Many of you who know me well also know I lived in Appalachia for many years. Not only did I learn historic and wild-foods gathering and cooking, I learned a great deal about natural healing, herbs, and recipes. I absolutely adore the music and lyrics that accompany this great video on the healing use, properties, and preparation of garlic as food AND remedy! I can think of few more wonderful things to eat for breakfast lunch and dinner for 2 days than the leftover Boef Bourguignon I made Friday served on creamy and buttery mashed russet potatoes with apple slices for dessert! Hail the microwave for quick reheating!!

With Eats History – I just made it onto their weekly engagement list by being one of their top engagers 🎉 This is a great site. I do Renaissance and themed dinner featuring historic menus. "Dine with Thomas Jefferson" is just one. Have Appalachian and old country cookbooks, a series of White House cookbooks, Roman and Greek dinners, Old South dinners and lunches featuring peanut soup and other traditional foods like corn pone, and more. It's a blast and folks always love learning about how foods HAVE been prepared in the past, and how similar some of them area today!!
