We are thrilled to welcome our newest Venue Manager!

Hi, I’m Alaena Klages and I’m so excited to officially introduce myself as the new Venue Manager at The Capitol Room here in St. Peter!
As a local business owner (I run an alterations and clothing shop in town) and a board member at the Arts Center of Saint Peter, community and creativity are already such a big part of my life. I care a lot about the little details, creating beautiful spaces, and making sure people feel taken care of and I’m so excited to bring that energy into this role.
I can’t wait to help host your weddings, parties, performances, and celebrations and continue building The Capitol Room as a space where our community comes together.

Happy 2026 Friends!
We hope everyone had a magical and relaxing holiday season and are looking forward to a new year!
They always say “New Year, New Me” and for us this 2026 event season that is ringing true. As of November 26th, 2025, The Capitol Room is now under new ownership. We are so excited to welcome Heather and Scott Kenning (pictured with their family below) as our new owners and cannot wait to see the love and new energy they will be bringing into this space. For all of our clients and soon-to-be married couples, nothing is changing. Your wedding and event will still be taking place as it was before and your pricing will remain the same. We are so very excited for this change and cannot wait to see what else Heather and Scott have in store for new offerings and events coming soon!

We would like to extend the most heartfelt thank you to the original Capitol Room Owners - Daniel and Emily Dinsmore. They curated an incredible space that made backdrop to over 500 weddings and events over the last 9 years. Their eye for design helped shape The Capitol Room as you’ve seen it over the years and we cannot be more thankful for everything they did.

Here is to our 2026 wedding and event season, let’s make it the best one yet!
