Bauman Fine Arts Series

Bauman Fine Arts Series The primary objective of this fine arts series is to bring a variety of arts experiences to the St. Paul community.

The Bauman Fine Art Series was established in March 1989 by the late long-time member Charlie Russell in honor of Quentin and Helen Bauman for their 50+ years of service to Hazel Park Congregational United Church of Christ. It was dedicated by a special gift to the church to bring regular fine arts events to the church community. The primary objective of this fine arts series is to bring a variety

of arts experiences to the eastside community. This fine arts series was the only classical music series in this neighborhood and still is today. We have showcased not only classical musicians, but also performers of a variety of genres. This 2015-2016 season, the new artistic director Asako Hirabayashi who is an accomplished international soloist and award winning composer is leading this series. We have given two family concerts so far; Asako collaborated with versatile singer/actress Momoko Tanno, virtuoso Baroque violinist Margaret Humphrey and master lutenist Philip Rukavina to present Baroque, Opera, Pop, Classic and contemporary repertoire for our unique Halloween concert. The audience enjoyed the sounds of the harpsichord, positive organ, piano, Baroque violin, Lute, Electric guitar, fiddle and washboard. The second concert, a Holiday Concert, presented beautiful Christmas carols and songs with a children's choir. The third concert will be February 21st, hosting Thursday Musical as they present soprano singer, Annette Baltes and pianist Greg Membrez. Please join us and share this creative, educational, artistic and spiritual experience with us at Hazel Park UCC!!!
