Mark Whitfield Trio! Thanks to KBEM!

The legendary guitarist Mark Whitfield is making his way back to the Twin Cities for a set at the Lakeside Guitar Festival on Saturday, August 9. Whitfield is no stranger to Minnesota, having played here frequently at the beginning of his career when he was touring with Brother Jack McDuff. Whitfield covered the details of the trio he’s traveling with, his reverence and love for education and his approach to improvising even when playing solo.

Lakeside Guitar Festival this weekend! The annual “Strum Along/ Sing a Song” at 11:00 am Sat 8/9 hosted by Kith + Kin Chorus . Here are the songs you will play. Bring your guitar, stringed instruments, voice, air guitar and join in. Lakeside Guitar Festival is free thanks to many that make it so. Celebrating the guitar and all its magical ways. Supported by Metropolitan Regional Arts Council and many area small businesses and independent guitar shops like friends Vig's!

Friday night and Saturday day, come out with the whole family for wide eyed programming across musical genre with singer/songwriter Mason Jennings closing Friday and NYC jazz hero Mark Whitfield closing it out Saturday afternoon, plus a community strum along, a waterfall improviser's stage and much more all amongst the beautiful scenery of Como Lake.
