Anytime Flowers - Local Saint Paul Florist Helping you express yourself is our business!

04/21/2020

To our dear, dear local customers. We have continued to try our hardest to strike a balance between being able to provide flowers for your needs and still have a net profit. At this time, we are not able to promise any specific colors or varieties of flowers - many farms are choosing to mow down their crops to mitigate their loss, rather than go through the expense of shipping them just to later have to dump them. It is SO sad for a florist who loves flowers!

With the much lowered demand we are seeing from the constraints put on our funeral homes and churches, we cannot stock product like we did just six weeks ago.

For these reasons, we are still not able to open our website for the next week or two - we WILL be able to take pre-orders for the week of Mother's Day for delivery only . Again, it is not certain what products will be available, although roses seem to not be much of a problem so far.

As has been our practice since the beginning of March, we will continue with our zero-contact delivery. As a reminder, we need a good phone number for the recipient, especially as people are more than ever reluctant to answer their door to a stranger.

During this unprecedented time with Covid 19, we want to inform our customers what we are doing to help flatten the bump on this virus. We are still delivering flowers locally, and are practicing social distancing. We NEED a good phone number for the recipient in order to do this. We will call the recipient and let them know they have a flower delivery and that we will be dropping it off outside where they prefer (weather permitting).

We may have to delay the delivery if we cannot reach the recipient.

Thank you so much for helping us do our part to fight this weird war!

"True or False? The poinsettia is a poisonous plant.

If you answered false, you're correct. The plant has been tested repeatedly and cleared of this charge by the National Poison Center in Atlanta, Georgia, and the American Medical Association. The Poison Index (POINSINDEX) Information Service, the main information resource for poison control centers across the country, reports that even if a 50-pound child consumed more than 500 poinsettia bracts the consequences would not be fatal. However, this does NOT mean that poinsettias should be eaten. Ingestion can cause stomach irritation and discomfort. The sticky white sap also may cause skin irritation for some people."

A little nostalgia ~ a little video of the store several years ago.

It's getting to be that time of year again ~ the annual Minnesota State Florist's Association "Designer of the Year" competition. Once again I am honored to be one of the judges, a grueling but extremely satisfying experience. Seeing all of the creative and beautiful ways in which designers bring a theme to life is really exciting. If you are a floral designer in Minnesota or the Dakotas or Iowa, consider entering ~ it's not too late! See ya at the Fair!
