We often get described as the people who grow wildflowers, which is not entirely inaccurate, we do our fair share of that. However, it’s not all that we grow. We grow a whole lot of Dahlias too! They are cultivated and cared for in a way that is anything but wild and much more meticulous, than their wildflower sisters. Dahlia days are here flower friends.

When we moved onto the farm and began discussing how we would begin breathing life back into this home and the land; we were told it would be cheaper, faster, and easier to tear the house down and rebuild. However, this was never an option in our minds. Our ancestors blood, sweat and tears built this place and we were in no way interested in starting from scratch. What our hearts desire most is to embrace what is here, honor where it’s been, pray for God’s guidance and put our generation’s own blood, sweat, and tears in every corner. I’m sure Tim’s great grandparents never imagined their great grandson’s family sitting on this same front porch and mimicking their sweet photo. I’m so thankful to for taking our idea and bringing it to life. The porch is one of our favorite places on this farm and now it’s forever captured in this image. Maybe someday our great grandchild can sit here and make their own memories and feel the presence of those of us who have carried the legacy on.
