Please send me a painting as your inspo, or a photo of your grandmother’s wedding. Tell me you want to incorporate the wild flowers that grew on the side of the beach trail you walked as a little girl. Give me a magazine photo you’ve torn out, or explain your color palette in the shades of the sky.
Lately, I’ve had a few brides show me inspo photos from Pinterest, and then tell me everything they don’t like about that photo. It feels like they are reaching for an aesthetic that maybe isn’t completely them.
Stop scrolling Pinterest. Let’s chat. Let’s use words and music and muses and figure out what your heart wants.
Please tell me you trust me. Please say “whatever you think is best,” and “I want you to get creative with it.” When you need to cut back on budget or have room to scale up, ask me what I would recommend. Tell me your worries, ask my advice. Let me carry some of this weight you’ve been holding.
TikTok has been handing out a lot of advice, and sometimes it makes people think their florist is trying to trick them or take advantage of them in someway. I’m a girl’s girl, I’ve got a good heart, and I am really good at what I do. Trust me.
Please tell me you want impractical. Ask for crazy colors and lavish embellishments. Let’s add fruit to your table scape, and glitter to your fruit. Tell me you want your bouquet to have a tulle train so long you’re tripping over it. Let’s make it weird and wonderful and absolutely dated.
It doesn’t matter how hard you try, there will be something you look back on that will so obviously read “2027”. So you may as well lean into what you love and make your wedding day a little time capsule.
Please decorate your most important day with flowers. Spend money you could use “responsibly” on a single day, because it’s a day you’ll remember forever. Please let me create art out of nature, to capture fleeting beauty and remind everyone that weddings, like flowers, don’t last very long.
