The September birth flowers are the aster and the morning glory, each offering unique facts: the aster, named for the Greek word for “star,” was once burned to repel snakes and symbolizes love and wisdom, while the morning glory is known for its trumpet-shaped, single-day blooms that open in sunlight and its psychoactive seeds used in some ancient rituals.

Happy Flower Friday Bloomers! Let’s talk about ZINNIAS on this fine Friday! 💛🧡🩷♥️💜

💛 Zinnias represent friendship, specifically thoughts of an absent friend.

🧡 Zinnias are brightly coloured flowers belonging to the Asteraceae family, where other members include asters, daisies, and sunflowers.

🩷 Flowers of zinnia can be white, yellow, orange, pink, red, lilac, purple or multi-colored.

♥️ Not only are zinnias bright and beautiful, they are useful plants in the garden for attracting hummingbirds, bees and butterflies.

💜 Zinnia is known as “cut and come again flowers” because of the ability to produce new flower buds shortly after cutting the flowering stem above the leaves.
