Thanks to everyone who came out to my tasting at the Rutland Area Food Co-op yesterday! It was a lot of fun in a gem of a store. They are carrying the whole gamut of Get Cracking Kitchen treats this week, so stop by and get your fix!

Thinking about Thanksgiving dessert? Thinking about not making Thanksgiving dessert? I am accepting orders for Thanksgiving galettes! Message me for the full galette roll-call.

I still have pears and lots of VT apples. If you want something just as delicious, but less traditional, I have lots of Yoder Farm's strawberries, PA peaches and Liebig blueberries. And winter squash.

I am also offering Winter Squash biscuits for $1.50/each, with a $15 minimum for special orders. I will have them at the winter market, so you can get hooked on them Saturday!

Hey everybody, I tracked down Sharon Parquette Nimtz's column with a highlight on Get Cracking Kitchen's Chickpea Almond Crackers. It originally ran in the Rutland Herald, but yes, she has it on her blog too! Yes, I realize these stories are a couple months old, but they are not stale. Share with your friends and pass my page around. It would be nice to turn 100 sometime soon.

I won't be in Rutland this week, but next I surely will be. And don't forget how I love doing special orders.

It originally ran in the Rutland Herald but Rutland Area Food and Farm Link has it on their website. Thanks RAFFL (if you see this...sorry don't know how to tag you)!

Some of my "likers" wrote that they couldn't access it. Now you can! Better late than never!

By Kimberly Griffin. “Down with monoculture!” That is what Grace Davy of Get Cracking Kitchen said when I asked her what inspires her use of various grains and nuts in her baking. She went on to explain that, as she sees it, we all eat too much wheat. With the current gluten free craze, some people…

PYO season is in full swing. It's pretty much the last week for strawberries but currants and raspberries are all around with blueberries ripening fast. Picking your own fruit is a great way to catch up with a friend, get your kids to burn off energy and have a blast, support your local agriculture, and reap the best of the season. Check out the Rutland Area Food & Farm Link's Locally Grown Guide (my go-to guide for PYO and local food sources): http://www.rutlandfarmandfood.org/guide. Get Cracking Kitchen can be spotted here as well! I hope to see you out there! Pick on.
