Scope of Position:
As our Director of Talent, you will be a vital part of the leadership team—responsible for managing and enhancing the recruitment, onboarding, and talent development processes for our restaurant. Reporting Relationship:
This position directly reports to the Franchised Owner / Operator of Chick-fil-A Ruston, Mr. Jeremy Telford. The position also secondarily reports to the Senior Director of Operations, Mr. Doug Gibbons, and the Director of Operations, Mr. Bailey Terral.
Key Responsibilities:
Talent Acquisition & Recruitment:
• Lead the recruitment and hiring processes for all restaurant roles, ensuring that candidates align with Chick-fil-A Ruston’s values and culture.
• Partner with the team of directors to identify staffing needs, create recruitment strategies, and determine the best methods to attract qualified candidates.
• Screen candidates, conduct thorough background and reference checks, conduct initial phone interviews, conduct multiple in-person interviews, evaluate candidate qualifications, and provide recommendations to ensure hiring decisions meet operational and cultural expectations.
• Work to remain proactive and prepared for new channels of growth within talent discovery and acquisition.
Onboarding & Employee Development:
• Oversee the onboarding process for new hires, ensuring they are well-equipped to succeed from day one with training, orientation, and integration into the team.
• Partner with leadership to track employee progress, identify areas for improvement, and offer coaching to help team members reach their career goals.
• Actively engage team members and leaders on their development in the business through continual coaching.
• Assisting in holding the entirety of the team accountable for constant, steady growth in their personal development and professionalism.
• Ensure new hires are supported throughout their onboarding experience and feel welcomed into the Chick-fil-A family.
• Create engagement within the team through team outings and employee recognition, as well as by creating and providing service opportunities for team members to serve their community.
• Partner with the Training Director to conduct quarterly team member assessments to ensure a focus on, and to continually improve, employee and organizational culture.
Operations & Strategic Leadership:
• Collaborate closely with the restaurant’s leadership team to ensure that staffing levels are aligned with operational needs, and step in to help with operations when needed.
• Lead team members and team leaders on daily shifts by coaching to better performance, celebrating successes, and taking disciplinary action when needed.
• Analyze staffing trends and work with the team to develop strategies that enhance operational efficiency and reduce turnover.
• Align talent development strategies with the broader goals of the restaurant to foster long-term growth, high performance, and a positive team culture.
• Consult on all hiring and disciplinary action, including notice of accountability, suspension, and termination of employees.
• Ensure proper documentation is preserved in employee files for onboarding and reviews, as well as for audits, accountability, and disciplinary action.
• Conduct semi-annual internal audits to ensure compliance with all state and federal records.

• Is capable of receiving, and positively responding to, feedback from their Chick-fil-A Franchised Operator and / or Senior Level Leaders.

Requirements for this Position:
• Completed BS or BA degree in Business, Marketing, or Human Resources, or have at least one year of equivalent work experience in Human Resources.
• Professional examples of successfully leading and managing others.
• Proficient computer skills, including proficient functionality of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Google Docs, ChatGPT, AI, and other internal, proprietary programs unique to Chick-fil-A Ruston and Chick-fil-A Inc.
• Must be able to demonstrate effective communication, and must possess strong interpersonal, organizational, and teamwork skills.
• Must possess extreme attention to detail and professionalism.
• Must be able to support and help cultivate the vision and values of Chick-fil-A Ruston and its Franchised Operator.
• Must be willing to support other directors within their areas of the business, including availability to help meet any overall business need, such as working within Restaurant Operations when needed.
• Must be able to maintain a minimum of 15 hours of scheduled hours in Restaurant Operations per week and must be present for 90% of team member events.
• Must be able to successfully execute multiple, simultaneous projects.
• Must be able to successfully conduct informative and productive recruiting events at schools and universities.
Successful Results of this Position:
• The restaurant will always be fully staffed, have a high retention of its team members, and have low employee turnover.
• The team members of Chick-fil-A Ruston will have a high overall satisfaction in their jobs and will understand the meaning and purpose behind what they do in their jobs.
• This role will achieve 100% compliance with Human Resources records and documentation.
