Closure of Our Venue for Public Events
Dear Community,
After careful consideration and with heavy hearts, we have made the difficult decision to close our venue to public events. This decision stems from our unwavering commitment to maintaining a safe and welcoming environment for our LGBTQIA+ and Pagan communities.
Recent trends in political and social policies, as reflected in the analysis of new executive orders and initiatives like Project 2025, have heightened our concern for the safety and well-being of marginalized communities. Policies aimed at dismantling diversity, equity, and inclusion efforts, curbing protections for LGBTQIA+ individuals, and fostering a climate of heightened scrutiny against minority groups present significant challenges to creating an inclusive and protected space during public events.
We have observed that these shifting policies and the potential for an increasingly hostile environment may embolden behaviors and attitudes that compromise the safety and dignity of our community members. As much as we have endeavored to create a sanctuary of acceptance and understanding, we recognize that hosting public events may expose our community to risks that we are unable to mitigate effectively.
Our venue has always been a space where love, respect, and shared values unite us. By focusing on private gatherings and events specifically for our LGBTQIA+ and Pagan communities, we can prioritize the safety, authenticity, and vibrancy that define who we are. This choice reflects our commitment to standing against discrimination and ensuring a secure environment for everyone who seeks solace and connection within our walls.
We deeply appreciate the love and support our community has shown us, and we hope to continue serving as a beacon of inclusion and acceptance in a way that aligns with our values and safeguards your well-being.
Thank you for your understanding and continued trust.
In solidarity,
Hidden Acres Farm.
