Santa is still coming tonight! 🎅
However, the Fire Department has been monitoring the weather closely all day in preparation for the Christmas Lighting and fireworks event tonight.
The projected sustained wind speeds and wind gusts currently exceed the NFPA regulations in providing a safe fireworks show.💨
We have been working with, and will continue to work with the National Weather Service out of Pocatello to receive the most accurate information available for our area. The weather patterns are not supposed to change until late tonight.
Therefore, there may be no fireworks show following Santa's lighting of the Christmas lights. Historically, the weather pattern changes when the sun goes down so there is still a chance the fireworks show will commence, but unfortunately, if these wind speeds are sustained, it is just too big of a risk for the safety of our firefighters and the added risk to exposures from falling debris and embers.
Santa still has his job to do and there will be hot chili and cinnamon rolls on at 5:00 no matter the weather!

Ride Along with a Firefighter! 🧑‍🚒

Get ready for a one-of-a-kind
Christmas City, USA experience!

Come out on December 6th and climb aboard a real fire truck for a memorable ride around the Square and neighboring streets! This is your chance to meet our local heroes and see the festive lights from a whole new perspective.

• When: December 6th, 5:00 PM - 7:00 PM

• Where: The Rupert Square, Meet on Fremont Plaza

• Any and All ages! $10 ticket per person, and all proceeds are being donated to the Christmas Lighting Committee!

• What: A festive fire truck ride along with a local firefighter!

3-4 different fire trucks will be offering rides. Rides fit 6.

*An adult must ride with their children.

This event includes a stop at the new fire station for hot cocoa and a chance to peak at the new facilities, enjoy surprise festivities around the square, and a FREE photo opportunity with Santa & Mrs. Clause in the sleigh in front of the Wilson Theater!

All ticket proceeds go directly to the Rupert Christmas Lighting Committee to help keep our town sparkling bright for the holidays!

🎄 A Big Shoutout to Minico High School! 🎄

We got a sneak peak of Santas NEW Mailbox in the 3D design stage! How cool is that?

The Minico High School Builders Academy and Pre-Engineering Academy have truly outdone themselves this season!
These talented students have designed and are building an amazing Santa Letter Drop Box, the perfect place for little ones to send their Christmas wishes straight to the North Pole.

Beautifully crafted, sturdy, and full of holiday spirit, this festive mailbox will be proudly located in the Rupert Square. Kids can stop by, drop off their letters to Santa, and be part of a magical holiday tradition right in the heart of our community.

A huge thank-you to the Minico students and instructors for putting their skills, creativity, and hard work into something that brings so much joy to local families. 🎅📬✨
