West End Fire Department will hold an open house on March 15th from 12 PM to 3 PM to engage with the community and promote volunteer opportunities for firefighters and EMTs. This event is part of a statewide initiative by the Idaho Fire Chiefs Association aimed at recruiting volunteers, as rural areas in Idaho face an increasing demand for first responders.
The IFCA emphasizes the importance of volunteers, stating that 70% of firefighters and EMTs in Idaho are volunteers. West End would like to share the commitment that allows individuals to balance volunteering with their personal and professional lives. During the open house, attendees can learn about the various roles available to volunteers, receive information on training, and understand how you can contribute to our community. We hope to inspire our community members to step up and make a meaningful impact by serving as volunteer first responders. Light refreshments will be served during the open house.
