In 1898, three men met "to consider the advisability of organizing a Club for the promotion of the Game of Golf and other out-of-door sports". On that historic day in June, the idea of what has become Wannamoisett Country Club was founded. The course was designed in 1914 by renowned architect Donald Ross and is known as one of his best layouts ever created. Playing host to the 1931 PGA Championship, the Club also hosts the prestigious Northeast Amateur Invitational every year.
Wannamoisett Country Club is home to one of the finest golf courses in the United States. Our Donald Ross designed par 69 masterpiece is impeccably conditioned, with 18 subtle, undulating greens and carefully placed bunkers. The course is currently ranked as one of "The 100 Most Prestigious Golf Clubs in the World" by LINKS Magazine and voted Top 50 Courses in the Nation by Golf Magazine, Golfweek and Golf Digest.
In addition to our renowned golf facilities, Wannamoisett offers a wide range of recreational and social opportunities for its members, including swimming, tennis, social events, fine and casual dining.
