IMPORTANT INFO about wedding planning!
I cannot express how important it is to have an alternative rain plan/ snow plan in place for your outside wedding! Brides , grooms and family also need to be flexible about the plans due to set up timing, and change of ceremony space. Yesterday’s wedding was a prime example as to how summer weather can quickly change and I had to have a discussion with my bride this week due to the severe weather that was predicted. The bride and groom had their hearts set on a spray on the gazebo outside of the venue and had a certain look in mind, but Mother Nature decided to throw in a curve ball with severe storms. We pivoted a couple of days in advance in anticipation of the storms and decided to make 2 large arrangements that could be moved and I lent them my columns. If I had put up the arch sprays, it would have been destroyed and we could have been in danger of lightening strikes if we were on our aluminum ladder working with chicken wire etc. (I’ve already been literally within inches of being hit by lightening before ) I know we all have certain expectations of how weddings would look ideally with blue skies and sunshine but in reality, we are not in charge of the weather on the day. This goes for Summer storms and Winter snow. I also need to stress the point of not to hanging on until the last minute to decide to call it inside especially if there is something that needs to be built or attached because it’s not fair to the coordinators or vendors. Ultimately, our couple was able to be married under the gazebo with intact flowers that they moved outside after the storm. If we had been forced to build the florals on the gazebo , it would have been a different story. The florals would have been torn apart and strewn all over the place and all of our work for days and weeks would have been destroyed and their $$ would have been wasted. Instead, they were happy, the party went on and Michelle and I were not fried by a lightening bolt. I am very thankful about the flexibility of the wedding party and the fact that they were respectful to us by having a decision in place.Pic is AI 😂⛈️⚡️☔️💨🍃
