My best advice to couples planning a wedding? Get married in Michigan in the spring. The flowers are perfection, the weather is cool and fresh. Vendors are eager to break out of our winter hibernation and jump back into wedding season. GRATITUDE “Is not a passive response to something we have been given, gratitude arises from paying attention” It’s hard in the hustle of life to always hold this truth close. But boy do I try. I see the people who support me and my business everyday in big and little ways. The couples and their families that chose to work with me and trust me. All the flower farmers in the world, some very far away, that tend to the spectacular blooms that make my work special-especially the local growers whom I depend on so much. My wholesalers and my reps that are my friends and work so hard to solve problems and bring beautiful things to work with. The gorgeous, talented, hardworking women who design side by side with me. And all my flower friends. My family that cheers me on. My parents who gave me the talented and taught me the ropes of this business. I’m not lucky to be doing what I’m doing. This isn’t luck, this isn’t passive. This is a determined, mindful, purposeful decision to be doing what I’m doing that I am so grateful for. Happy Thanksgiving to you all.

Hello! A little introduction to all the new followers! This is me the owner, face, lead designer, the one you email and talk to in consultations, the bucket scrubber, the flower prepper, the idea generator and the person you will see leading the talented people who work with me the day of your event. I’ve been a designer for 18 years and have owned J Costello for 11. And I LOVE what I do! And thanks to you all I get to do it. My family has been slinging flowers since the 50’s in Detroit so I come from a long line of talented florists.
