Now offering photo packages (in addition to cinematography)! Here’s some favorites from Daniel & Maritza’s celebration in August, where I was invited to take care of both photography and video. I’ll share some of the video too so you can what it looks like to have the same person take care of both media forms.

I’ve predominantly done video for the past 15 years while keeping photography more occasional. But it’s been refreshing to do more photo recently, where I can focus on composition and lighting opportunities. I’m a strong believer in an interdisciplinary mindset—the more you practice one craft, the better it makes a different one—sometimes in unknown and unexpected ways.

Hi, I’m Andrew!

I started filming weddings in 2011 when I was 16.

I’ve developed my own take on how to best do this—not only technically, but with full respect to you and your community. I make it my goal to document your day as beautifully as I can, from the perspective of a new friend, without turning things into a media event.

I’m definitely an observer. I have a goofy side, but as a writer at heart—lean more reflective than extroverted. I’m also an adventurous travel ju**ie. I like meeting new people and discovering a new perspective.

I bring this spirit to your wedding day, quickly getting a sense of your relationships and how they fit into your life. Let’s avoid cliches and get to the heart of what’s happening.

You’ve made aesthetic choices with the venue and other design elements. I’m careful to translate those choices into cinematography and music. I look for metaphors, and ways to tap into my studies of narrative filmmaking.

It’s not only about capturing the wedding day, but the relationship as a whole. This is a once-in-a-lifetime chance to have you and your favorite people in a “movie.”

I take this task seriously and am always honored to be let in.

I’m feeling energized about this work and can’t wait to make my best videos yet this season.

After leaving a business partnership in 2022, I took some time off from weddings to re-evaluate how I really want my weeks and months to look like in this life.

Because I started filming and editing weddings when I was 16, I started associating it with something I did as a teenager. Looking for a 9-5 felt like the “normal” or proper thing to do.

It’s been a complex journey. I turned 30 a few months ago, and have reflected on the hundreds of couples and businesses I’ve worked with over the years.

What’s stood out to me about weddings is the authenticity and sense of gratitude a couple so often communicates. Corporate and nonprofit video projects feel fleeting in comparison, with most finished projects having lifespans less than a year.

I like history, art, and relationships. I like when there’s potential for a piece of media to last longer than a moment on social media.

None of us know how long these wedding videos may last. I wonder if some families will pass them down for 300 years. It’s an incredible thought, the potential of these “digital heirlooms” as I call them.

I use to juggle any and every type of client video project. Now I’m only focused on you and your big day.
