Last night was a great night. Last night we got to celebrate Jake and Brooke's union. It was a long time coming and will make for a beautiful story to tell grandchildren one day.
Jake and Brooke are Marines who are stationed out in Japan. Because of COVID and health and safety restrictions, including ever changing USMC travel restrictions, their wedding date has had to be moved 4 times. Even last night's wedding was in jeopardy. Had Jake not been pestering everyone he could to make sure that he and Brooke's leave was approved, so they could finally have their wedding with family and friends, last night may not have happened either.
This wedding wasn't without hurdles as the weather seemed to not want to cooperate, but in the end the sun shined and everything worked out. Which is a beautiful metaphor for marriage. All of the patience, planning, hard work, and tenacity paid off as their dream day came together beautifully. It's those qualities that will insure a successful marriage.
Congratulations Brooke and Jake. Things may not always go to plan, but just remember the clouds will always clear and the sun will eventually shine.
