Vast Entertainment owner Jeff Van Slyke doesn't get enough recognition for all he does for the Boilermaker 5K, as well as the wheelchair and 15K races to follow at that checkpoint, said 5K Start Line Director Mary Ruckel.

A couple of weeks ago we had the privilege to donate our services to the CNY Stair Climb. It was a two day event. The first we worked with Big Poppa Gary Spears at the Delta Hotels by Marriott Utica, there was a huge motorcade and a riggies competition for all the firefighters following the stair climb at the state building. The following day we worked with Simpleprops who put on a stellar performance at Sickenberger Lane. CNY stairclimb donated $5,000 to the Believe 271 foundation that helps firefighters in a time of need. It felt great to work along side people that make a big difference in the lives of so many, and also have the chance to pay tribute to those that sacrificed everything to help save their fellow man.A huge thank you goes out to all the first responders and firefighters out there that work so hard to keep people safe!
