I know this is a little different than my normal content here, but we lost my sweet Shepherd yesterday and I wanted to let everyone know that "end of life" sessions are a thing and they are such a great way to remember our babies.
Silco was a momma's boy through and through and loved nothing more than serving and guarding me! He was ALWAYS on duty, making sure I was protected. We called him the fun police. When the other dogs would get rowdy, he would bite their faces. When kids would, he bit them (š
- it was only a few kids, never bad bites), he kept everyone in line. It was his job.
He would NOT leave my side- in the mornings we slept in together, he wouldn't eat or go outside until I got up. If I woke up in the middle of the night (which is often) he was right there with me. If I showered, he laid outside the door. One of the funniest things he would do, was when I went to the bathroom he would come IN the bathroom and whimper and cry- every single time.... I would give ANYTHING to know what that was about. It was almost like he was telling me that I needed to do that outside so I wouldn't get in trouble.
He was the gentlest of giants, 100 pounds of love and loyalty. We adopted him as a senior and only had him for 4 years but I have never loved a dog or been loved by a dog like him.
He was so special to me and has left such a huge hole in my heart.
Take pictures with your kids and take pictures with your animals. I will be telling my grandkids about how handsome and amazing this dog was one day and there is nothing that gives his beauty justice like pictures. I'll never forget a thing about him.
