One of the many good times at the DeSoto with our friend John Schroeder. His leadership and love of our community will be forever remembered. Our thoughts and prayers go out to his family and friends. ♥️

We celebrated the closing of our Capital Campaign on Sunday, October 11 with our friends from the O.C. Lam Society, our donors, officials, DeSoto Board members, our tenant partners Seven Hills Fellowship, Rome Little Theatre and Rome International Film Festival. We also continued celebrating the Fox Gives multi-year grant award.

Our Development Director, Michelle Picon, who has raised millions to polish the Jewel of Broadstreet, also announced her retirement. Enjoy these great photos of Michelle on her big night, and please help us congratulate her for this stupendous accomplishment.

Thank you Michelle for years of dedicated fundraising, hard work in renovation and restoration, an amazing track record in obtaining grants, and always keeping the flame alive. There will never be a more dedicated DeSoto lover! Cheers to you as you travel the globe with your devoted Hector and enjoy your adorable grandchildren and extended family. More info on ways we intend to honor Michelle soon.

Please feel free to add your congratulations to Michelle!

Don’t miss this performance at the ROME CITY AUDITORIUM!City Auditorium, Rome Ga At this time last year, the DeSoto hosted the Andy Nevala Quartet, fresh off a tour in Spain! This year they bring Spain to the Rome with a celebrity Spanish saxophonist who will jazz up with flamenco tunes. Great cultural exchange right here on Broad Street!
