My apologies for the delay, but this summer's schedule had some twists and turns. I'm happy to announce the 2026 Rolla Town Band Summer schedule.

This year we have TWO special concerts besides our regular "Castleman Green" Concerts.

On Saturday July 4th we'll be presenting a special "America 250" concert at the Rolla High School Performing Arts Center in collaboration with the Rolla Choral Arts Society.

July 16th we plan to offer our 2nd Annual "Concert and a Movie" at Leach Theatre. More details on that to come.

Once again I'd like to invite all Rolla Town Band members (past, present and future) to come be a part of the Missouri S&T Symphonic Band this spring.

Rehearsals will take place on Thursdays from 6:00-8:30 p.m. in the Band Room in Castleman Hall starting January 22nd. Subsequent rehearsals will be on 1/29, 2/5, 2/12, 2/19, 2/26, 3/5, 3/19, 4/2, 4/16, and 4/23.

We have two concerts planned for the semester, February 22nd and April 26th, both at 2:00p.m. in Leach Theatre.

For those of you who played in the RTB in the few years before COVID, you knew Dave Winch. He was a mainstay in our percussion section playing whatever he could. He was one of those folks who just enjoyed the chance to make music with others. Rest in peace Dave.

David Paul Winch of Rolla, MO, passed away Saturday, August 30, 2025 at the age of 72.

He was born on September 22, 1952 in Lexington, KY to the late William Hall Winch and Ann Louise (Rich) Winch.

In addition to his parents, David was also preceded in death by his brother Sam Winch.

David had a gift for conversation and truly enjoyed connecting with people. Whether chatting with a neighbor or a passerby, he always had time to share a story or listen to someone else's. He found joy in walking around the town of Rolla, taking in its charm and familiar faces. A lover of music, David also collected musical instruments, each piece reflecting his appreciation for sound, craftsmanship, and history.

David will be greatly missed by his surviving family which includes: his brother, Steve Winch and wife Amy Salling of Waikolola Village, HI; three nieces; two great nephews; and one great niece.

A private family gathering will take place at a later date. On behalf of David’s family they would like to thank everyone for the love and support that you gave David throughout the years.

Our last outdoor Rolla Town Band concert this summer is TONIGHT at 7:30 on the Castleman Green. Bring your lawn chairs and come join us.

Don't forget, next Thursday (July 17) is our special "Concert and and Movie" inside Leach Theatre.

We're proud to announce the dates for our Summer 2025 season!

First rehearsal will be Tuesday June 10th and the band will run every Tuesday and Thursday with rehearsals and concerts until July 17th.

The July 17th concert will be a special "Concert and a Movie" event in collaboration with our friends at Leach Theatre.

Those of you interested in playing in the band, remember that you do not have to commit to the entire season. Come join for whichever dates you can.

Today's noon outdoor concert of the S&T Wind Symphony and student groups is STILL ON so come join us on the Castleman Green! Rain should be tapering off by noon and worse case scenario, we'll move inside Leach Theatre.
