We are beyond excited to introduce Amaranth to our floral creations! This week, we’ve been working with this stunning new flower at Western Jungle, and we can’t wait to share these beautiful, unique designs with you all. These Red Head Tapajos Geophagus Cichlids are so quirky and display a lot of personality! They are a peaceful cichlid and prefer to be in groups of 5 or more. They are "mouth brooders" meaning they hold their eggs inside their mouth until the fry are big enough to be free swimming. They are also known as "earth eaters" and that name is earned because you'll see them at the bottom of their tanks sifting through the sand looking for food.

These guys can be kept with other peaceful and similar sized fish that have similar water parameters and should avoid keeping them with aggressive fish. I will reply under this post to show what they will look like as adults when they grow to be around 6 inches!

We are super excited to have this beautiful Pauldarium in the shop! Created by CW Aquaponics & Ecosystems she really knows how to make ideas come to life! It is AVAILABLE and houses a wide assortment of plants and some shrimp inside. There is a whole ecosystem coexisting in a beautiful aquascape ready to take home 😍

We are really excited about these new and hard to find fish that just came out of quarantine! They're called Medaka or Japanese Rice Fish known for their hardiness to survive a wide range of temperatures and can grow up to 1.5 inches. They live upwards of 5 years and are ready to breed at a young age. Some of them are already laying eggs for us! They come in a wide variety of colors and some sparkle in the light 😍✨️

Rice Fish are known to be peaceful, coexisting with similar sized fish like minnows, loaches, amino shrimp and even snails. Some are peaceful enough to be housed with neocardina shrimp, but they might eat small baby shrimp. They prefer to eat from the surface, so floating foods are best. They also are most comfortable with heavily planted tanks. Overall, many fish enthusiasts label these guys as one of the most beginner friendly fish with how hardy, peaceful and sociable they can be. Come check them out! 😍🥰✨️
