Turns out the Mona Lisa was just Leonardo showing up to a paint & sip, saying “I’m not creative,” having one glass of wine, and surprising himself.

(Okay maybe not 🤣)

But for real — art has never just been about the finished painting. It’s about experimenting, relaxing, connecting, and remembering that humans are wired to create.

A lot of people see the lights, the music, the projections, the glowing paint… and think we built some big fancy thing.

The truth is, we’re just two regular people with a little art studio in downtown Rogers and a dream we keep showing up for. 💜

We’re grandparents. We have regular jobs. I’ve worked for a corporate attorney for the last 8 years, and DeShon is building his future learning a trade as a plumber.

During the week, we’re working. On the weekends, you’ll find us moving tables, mixing paint, hanging lights, cleaning brushes, carrying speakers, and trying to create a little bit of magic for anyone who walks through our door.

Paint Your Power was never meant to be just about painting a canvas.

It was always about the moment.

The person who says, “I’m not creative,” and leaves proud of what they made.

The quiet kid who suddenly finds confidence behind a DJ booth.

The adult who forgot what it felt like to play.

The friends laughing.
The couples reconnecting.
The person who just needed a place to breathe for a couple hours.

That’s why we do this.

DeShon has a gift I can’t teach. He has a way of meeting people exactly where they are — kids, adults, complete strangers — and making them feel comfortable enough to try something new.

Sometimes it’s just putting headphones on someone, showing them a button, letting them drop a song…

But you can see the moment it happens.

Their shoulders relax.
They smile.
They realize they belong there.

And that’s what Paint Your Power has always meant to us.

It’s not about being the biggest.
It’s not about being famous.

It’s about building a little space where people remember they are allowed to create, laugh, be silly, be brave, and be themselves.

A little paint.
A little music.
A little courage.
A little reminder that creativity belongs to everyone.
