I believe in education, professional development, giving back and growing community. This week, I filled all of those buckets. For six months, my friend and colleague, Christopher Stibbs, CFRE and I have been working on a seminar for Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP Global).

We traveled to San Diego to share content with up to 3,300 nonprofit professionals. As a bonus, I attended sessions and learned from others. I also spent time with auction friends and got to see my Cubs lose to the Padres.

A huge thank you to Chris for pushing me to dream big. It was his idea to submit our seminar. We were up against 541 other proposals. Chris - we did it!

As the only fundraising auctioneer from the Kansas City area who attended this conference, I believe in bringing back info to help all nonprofits. I’ll be posting my nuggets for several months!

When I founded Taking Bids Fundraising, it was only me. I assumed it would always stay that way. Initially, my goal was simple: to provide nonprofits with auction services they actually deserved and to support my family.

Then these amazing women started to come into my life, personally and professionally. They asked to get involved. They wanted to make our community a better place. I started to see a different vision.

Over thirteen years, TBF has grown to serve and partner with more nonprofits in Kansas City than any other auction team/company. This happened because of our deliberate approach to fundraising - not just auctions. We don’t show up to just talk fast. We show up fully prepared to raise you the most money possible while creating a positive donor experience.

I am so proud of this team and what we have built together. You know I love to say “thank you” and I could never say that enough to every member on the TBF team.

Night Out with was a special night. Raising money to support survivors in our community holds a special place in my heart. Thank you, MOCSA for everything. This was TBF’s first time at , home of . What a night for !! The room was gorgeous. The silent auction was hot. The dessert auction looked scrumptious. The committee worked tirelessly to pull off this amazing gala and their hard work showed.
