In all seriousness though. This photo was taken the day Grant got the best news of his life! He was going to be a Lumberjack! We would pass the campus on our visits out to see him and would always see graduates in their caps and gowns in front taking photos and would pray that Grant made it all the way so we could be the parents taking that photo, and he would be the proud graduate smiling ear to ear because he had accomplished something that not all college students do! We thought that day was a month away. We have ordered the ring, the cap, the gown, and hotels were reserved for the big day! Never in a million years would I have thought that I’d be driving out to East Texas pulling a flatbed a month before graduation to load him up and bring him home to finish his degree online from my living room! He can’t stay, he has no job as most college kids are waiters, or bartenders just like him! They have no reason to stay, now! No job, no money, no school, no graduation, no Big Ring Dip-NADA! The universities all say that they will have a rescheduled ceremony, but they will mail all diplomas. Tell me, who wants to put on caps, gowns, and drive back to the campus after all of this? I doubt many will-I hope mine does, but I wouldn’t blame him, and I won’t force him...but I sure would like that photo in front of the campus like we always thought we’d capture! Maybe we will...
