I’m Holly!
AKA your wedding planner bestie and I am SO happy you’re here!

I am the owner, lead planner and lead coordinator for Holly Diffin Events.
HDE is a special team of hard working ladies who love to serve and are passionate about weddings & events!
We’ve been in biz for almost 2 years.

What do I love most about being a wedding planner?

EASY ➡️ getting to provide the wedding planning and wedding day experience that everyone deserves through FUN, ORGANIZATION & EDUCATION.

The cherry on top is executing all wedding day plans with our amazing team of assistant coordinators and watching as our couple and their families dance the night away.

I also LOVE the relationships that I get to create with my couples. We spend lots of time together during their wedding planning journey and they mean so much to me!

RAPID FIRE FUN FACTS 🔥

- My birthday is June 4th but my favorite month is not June.
- I was on a game show called Minute To Win It with my siblings when I was 13.
- I could eat chocolate chip cookies with every meal.
- If the 49ers lose a game, you’ll find me in my feels and unable to shake the loss for a solid 3 days. (Maybe more if it’s a playoff loss)
- I have a terrible singing voice
- My hubby and I have one child who has red hair. He’s stinking cute 😆
- I know every Rascal Flatts song by heart and could answer just about any disney trivia question thrown my way
- Favorite drink has to be Dr. Pepper
- I’ll beat you at pickleball, sorry not sorry.
- I could enter a contest for napping and make the podium at minimum.

For the couples who’d like to save their big reveal for the aisle while still getting a moment alone before their ceremony !! 📣

If you’re planning a First Touch on your wedding day, you’re going to want to hit that SAVE button.

DO ✅
over communicate with your photo / video / coordination team about expectations!

DO ✅
allot more time before ceremony to accommodate for this moment especially if travel is necessary. This will mean bridal glam needs to be done sooner!

DO ✅
bring tissues & a love note to read - if you and your fiancé plan on praying together, be prepared for some tears!

DO ✅
pre-determine a location for First Touch with your vendor team and decide if you want this moment to be private or if you’re okay with bridal party and family watching from a distance.

DON’T ❌
have too high of expectations. Give yourselves space to make this moment as organic as possible!

DON’T ❌
select a location far away from your ceremony site. Keep it within a 5 min radius from your venue!

DON’T ❌
feel rushed! Those butterflies in your tummy have been waiting a long time for their moment. THIS is your chance to be present. Hold their hand, talk about your excitement for the day and how much you love each other!

There’s really no “rule book” when it comes to your ceremony precessional and recessional.

Every wedding is different and every family is different!

While planning your wedding, make sure you’re thinking about WHO you want to be walking down the aisle and in WHAT order.

MEET OUR NEWEST ASSISTANT COORDINATOR 🤍

Hi there 👋🏼 My name is Ashley Thomas, I am an assistant coordinator at HDE.

My husband, Daniel, and I married in October of 2020 and we have a beautiful baby boy, Dawson. We also own a training facility in Rocklin 💪🏼

In my spare time I am working out, coaching, or hanging out with my hubby. We also happen to be best friends with Holly and her husband!

My favorite part of the wedding day is seeing the excitement and anticipation in the bride and groom before the ceremony. Bridal suite day-of is where it’s at! I also love the reception reveal to the couple..everything they’ve envisioned comes to life!

Weddings are so special, but are also a day that can either be so fun or so stressful. To be able to handle every small detail and watch the bride and groom truly enjoy their day, fills my heart so much. That is why I love the work we do! 💕

We love it when we get to chat with our couples following their wedding day.
Hearing about how much fun they had, how stress free their experience was and ultimately how much they enjoyed each and every second makes us SO happy!

BUT…

There’s something that keeps coming up in our debrief calls ⤵️

“We regret rushing our first dance. It went by way too fast and we will never get that moment back.”

It’s true.
You will never forget your first dance together. You’ve just committed yourselves to one another, you’re all dressed up and you’re dancing to a song that encapsulates your love story perfectly.

It’s a BIG moment!
Here’s your permission slip and reminder to take the entire song if you want!

You DO NOT have to cut the song short because you feel like guests will lose interest or you feel embarrassed. The only two people that matter are you and your spouse.

Slow down, take in this moment with the love of your life.

This is the pinnacle of your wedding day and the start of your lives together.

Opinions make planning your wedding one hundred times harder.

You’ve got this opinionated
mom/friend/bridesmaid/cousin/uncle
AND YOU LOVE THEM
but….
THEY ARE DRIVING YOU NUTS!

It’s not fun to constantly be hearing about what you should or shouldn’t do when it comes to your wedding day.

More importantly, it muddies what you should be focusing on:
what YOU want.

So, what are some things you can say to those opinionated people in your life?
Because, let’s face it, you can’t go on like this for another 6, 9 or even 12 months!

BLUNT ❌
“I’m looking for support, not opinions”
You have every right to say this. It’s to the point and will hopefully send the message that your wedding plans are not up for THEIR discussion.

SENSITIVE ☮️
“We appreciate your suggestion, however this is not a priority for us.”
Perfect for all the grannies in our lives. Sweet yet direct.

EXPLANATION 🔄
“We’ve weighed all our options and have decided that this is what we really want.”
You DO NOT owe anyone an explanation. But, sometimes giving more information can help diffuse the constant questioning or unwanted suggestions.

In addition to BEING ON TIME…..😘
Here’s a list of things we recommend bringing with you to that bridal suite!

- dress tape
- backup bra
- b**b tape
- safety pins
- wedding & dancing shoes
- bobby pins
- jewelry
- lint roller
- curling iron
- hairspray
- lipstick / lipgloss
- eyelash glue (for necklace)
- mints
- tissues
- phone charger
- deodorant
- a plan for belongings during ceremony
- copy of toast
- water bottle & snack
- a good attitude

3 THINGS TO KNOW BEFORE DRESS SHOPPING

1️⃣ BE INSPIRED BUT OPEN MINDED
- Knowing what style you like is a great thing!
Start there and let your bridal consultant know exactly what you were hoping to wear.
BUT
Keep an open mind to trying out different styles!
You never know, that princess gown just might surprise you!
When you keep an open mind, your dress shopping becomes less pressure and more fun.

2️⃣ LESS PEOPLE, LESS OPINIONS
- Plain and simple. We love our people, but not everyone needs to be at your dress appointments. Limiting your audience can help you relax and gives you more freedom to choose what YOU like instead of potentially being swayed by other people’s opinions.
Maybe save the large party for when you go in for your final fitting! After the decision is already made and it’s all about those finishing touches.

3️⃣ HAVE YOUR SHOES IN MIND
- You don’t have to bring shoes to your initial dress shopping appointments, but it is really nice to have an idea of what you’re planning on wearing.
Sometimes your venue decides for you if you know what we mean.
The beach and stilettos don’t really mix 😆
If you do have your shoes already, bring them with you so that in case do find “the one.” you can get the full look and measurements will be correct.

3 REMINDERS WHEN IT COMES TO YOUR BRIDAL PARTY 🕶️

1️⃣ Who you pick matters. These are the people who truly care about you and will support your marriage always. Pick those who act unselfishly and bring positive energy wherever they go!

2️⃣Say goodbye to obligation. You do not have to pick someone based off other people’s thoughts, opinions and feelings. Your day = your choice.

3️⃣Numbers don’t matter
(that much)
Don’t stress about the how little or how big your wedding party is. Decide on what feels right for you and your wedding planners can help with any logistical concerns you have!
For example: don’t feel the need to add bridesmaids onto your list if your husband-to-be has one million groomsmen 😂
