Life is short. Let's have some fun.

My daughter held a wedding for her finger puppets this weekend. I could not attend. Puppets by Clementine, regrets by me. 💒 🥂 ❤️

Fragments from Hike You! during ArtScene.

Most of ArtScene lives downtown, and we were -appropriately- out on the edges. That meant nobody wandered in by accident. Every person who walked through that door chose to be there, and you could feel it.

Thank you to everyone who ventured out to experience our weird vision.

Prints are still available with proceeds going to Children’s Safe Harbor.

Hike You! Is not done…

Art Seen. 👀

Night one of Hike You! is in the books - hanging on corrugated steel in a working garage, which is exactly where art belongs.

Bring your actual face here tomorrow for night 2. Photos, haiku, a car lift, possible flash burns. What’s not to love? Print sales proceeds go to Children’s Safe Harbor.

Running on fumes and haiku. Hike You! at RevHaus for ArtScene. Come see us in the garage tonight 5–9, tomorrow 4–9. Proceeds to Children’s Safe Harbor.

Hike You!: Six Years of Photographs and Haiku from the Heart of Rockford comes to RevHaus for Fall ArtScene 2026.

For more than six years, photographer Ryan Davis and poet Thomas L. Vaultonburg have explored Rockford one walk at a time, finding familiar streets, forgotten places, strange objects, and unexpected moments through photography and haiku. Hike You! brings those two ways of seeing together, following a journey through the city in which the familiar gradually becomes new, mysterious, and magical. The exhibition also offers a preview of the forthcoming Hike You! book.

Hike You! is part of a larger four-artist exhibition at RevHaus, a creative automotive space bringing craftsmanship, design, and art together. Also exhibiting are Oscar Pagles of Foraged, with reclaimed metal and wood artwork, and Shayne Pagles of VinGogh, LLC, with metalwork. Visitors can also see live metalworking and woodworking demonstrations throughout ArtScene. Rockford Area Arts Council

First days of school, decades apart. Some things never change.🤘

The torment of arriving at a parade 15 minutes early: an anthology.

The longer I do this, the more I know the chaos belongs in the family album too.

Still one of my favorite extended family photos.

I've never had a better time dodging golf balls all day! Thanks Carpenter's Place for having me out to document a tee-rific event on a par-fect day. ⛳️📷

…and everything went exactly as planned.
