Just in case you didn't know...........

Being a person who has the privilege of marrying couples of all fashions, I am constantly asked about who is responsible for what for the ceremony, rehearsal and reception. Being truly southern raised, I researched the guidelines that are followed around here. (Emily Post always rules)

The Brides family is traditionally responsible for paying for the wedding. Wedding attire - Brides gown, veil, shoes etc. , floral arrangements. Officiant, photographer/videographer. Food, venue, wedding day transportation, pre-wedding parties showers and wedding cake. GROOMS family is responsible for the rehearsal dinner food /drink. The groom's attire and boutonnieres, marriage license, reception event entertainment, departure transportation. Clean up, crew.

I have several weddings ahead of me...hope this is helpful!!!

PS....Also brides...brides to be and grooms. Remember to write your thank you notes for gifts that you have received in a timely fashion ...like any good southern girl/guy was taught by their mommas.
