nex refused to pay court order child support. took me years to have it straightened out even though we have a wage garnishment program in our province. by the time it was set up to provide timely payments, he got custody of our child.
while i was deprived of income i went to the local credit union to get a loan (at lower interest rate) to pay off credit card debt (and higher interest rates).
loan officer listened to my story, denied me the loan (even though i was making regular payments to credit card co for years) and suggested i take a budgeting workshop.
in return i gave the loan officer a free lecture on financial abuse and socially induced poverty and suggested he never make such a suggestion to a single mother again. by the look on his face, he'll think twice before doing that again.
similar to ppl telling dv survivors in family court to just, "show the judge [our] evidence".
ppl need to learn to shut up about things they have zero experience on.
