Movement creates awareness.
The difference between something staged and something observed is rarely about direction.

It’s about tension.

When I ask him to adjust his cufflinks or look across the room, I’m not looking for the action itself.
I’m watching for what happens after.
Most people respond to subtle discomfort with release, a breath, a laugh, a softening of the shoulders.

That’s the moment.

I don’t ask for emotion.
I create space for it to surface.
That distinction is what keeps a film feeling lived in.
Not performed.
