Look ma, we’re in the New York Times!

Apparently brunch in a historic bank building with eggs Bennies and hash was worth writing home (or to the nation) about.

They called Dime Store a downtown brunch favorite in their “36 Hours in Detroit” travel guide—and yeah, we’re still blushing a little.

Came for brunch, stayed for the burger.

Our pimento cheeseburger just hits different: 6 oz. chophouse blend from , scratch-made pimento cheese, grilled onion & house pickles on a soft potato bun.

Pro tip: get our hand-cut Kennebec fries on the side. Never frozen — unlike the other guys.

This is what it looks like when your brunch spot’s a true mom-and-pop shop. Chef-Owner George helps bring the specials to life, his wife Maggie captures them better than I ever could, and their littlest family member is usually the first to give her very serious thumbs-up—especially when cinnamon rolls are involved.

Right now in Rochester Hills: fried green tomato benny, braised beef & asparagus omelette, rhubarb & ricotta pancakes, and fresh-baked cinnamon rolls (weekends only). Scratch-made, chef-crafted, and served with a little extra heart.

Come taste what a true mom-and-pop can do.

Omelettes deserve sauce, too! Our enchilada omelette comes smothered in housemade tomatillo sauce with fiesta chicken, sautéed onion, white cheddar, crispy tortilla strips & a little crema drizzle. Big flavor, killer texture, served daily in Detroit & Rochester Hills.

🎉 Surprise guest alert! 🎉

This morning, the one & only Kevin James stopped by Dime Store Detroit & brought his signature charm & humor with him. He even took a moment to snap a photo with our amazing crew!

Kevin is in town for his “Owls Don’t Walk” comedy tour, with a show tonight at the The Michigan & State Theaters - Marquee Arts in Ann Arbor & another tomorrow at the The Temple Theatre in Saginaw.

We’re so grateful he chose to dine with us & share a few laughs. Moments like these truly light up our day!
