🔷 Welcome, Dr. Sherica Jones-Lewis, Director of Community Schools! 🔷
Charlottesville City Schools is excited to welcome Dr. Sherica Jones-Lewis as our new Director of Community Schools. As part of a state grant, she’ll work to strengthen our partnerships with community organizations, families, and students. Dr. Jones-Lewis brings a wealth of experience in education, strategic planning, and community engagement. This position is made possible through a collaboration with the The Center for Community Partnerships at UVA.
The Virginia Department of Education has awarded Charlottesville City Schools a $235,000 planning grant to help CCS establish the Community School Model, a framework in which schools, families, and community partners co-create school-based supports for students and families with the ultimate goal of advancing student achievement and overall well-being.
