Dear Yummi Jamaica friends and family, as of today, Monday, September 9 2024.. We have chosen to cease operation. This has been a difficult decision as we have so many cherished regulars in our store and on Doordash.. A few that come to mind, Tonyo, Mychal, Shavene, Melvina, Jennie, David.. Honestly too many to mention. We have forged some bonds that can't be undone. However, the process for an ABC license has taken longer than anticipated and we have come to realize because of the environment downtown it has really held us back, our reviews and feedback overall have been amazing but each day we have people turn and walk out the door because we don't serve alcohol and we have a family to feed.

This does not equate to failure or an end. We want to try again in the future. And in addition to the bonds we have forged, we have been able to help employees who were unhoused secure housing and been able to provide necessities to them and will continue to assist them every way we can. At the end of the day we chose to pray for guidance that we make the right choice and at this time, it is the right choice for our family. We love and appreciate each one of you and our son Trevor will miss visiting with you and even dancing with you! Until we meet again. ❤️

We're thinking about possibly doing a buffet set up including fried fish and dessert on Saturday, and donating 10% of proceeds to the SPCA. Who thinks that's a winner??

We hosted a large karaoke and dance party upstairs last night, it was so much fun and special thanks to our guests for including us in the fun! We are so happy to have had the privilege to serve you all.
