About 15 years ago, on my first day bartending at a local golf course, Jen and I introduced ourselves with a handshake. To this day, we still talk about it. There was something instantly magnetic about that moment.
From day one, we began working… together. We shared a passion for the industry, for the people we met along the way, and for what hard work could make possible.
We never established an official anniversary date. Neither of us could pinpoint exactly when two separate paths became one. We simply hit the ground running toward everything we believed we could do and create together—and never looked back.
Over the past 15 years, our anniversaries have found us in their own way. In the middle of a big moment, one of us will catch the other’s eye, smile, and say, “Happy Anniversary.”
Those two words hold so much: Look at what we’ve built. Look at what we’ve made it through. I’m so glad it’s you.
The truth is, we celebrate every single day that our paths crossed. We have literally and figuratively WORKED together ever since—building a life, raising a family, chasing ideas, and finding our way through all that comes with it.
This weekend marks 12 FULL years of J’s BBQ. And while that deserves a celebration, we’ve decided to turn the tables a little and also celebrate 15 years of everything we’ve accomplished—together, individually, as a family, as co-parents, and as a brand.
Jen, I’d shake your hand all over again.
