Tomorrow is the deadline to get registered for this training program.

Locals (Mesa, Delta, Montrose, and Garfield counties) between the ages of 18 and 24+, who identify as having a disability, can register for a unique opportunity to learn about the agricultural industry, its various jobs and how to secure a job in the field.
That opportunity, Colorado State University’s Agriculture Workforce Exploration Training, will start August 22, but registration is open now.

The free, comprehensive workshop will be offered by the CSU Western Campus, 3170 B 1/2 Road, in partnership with the Colorado Division of Vocational Rehab and the Colorado AgrAbility Project.

According to a press release, the program will empower young adults interested in agriculture to learn more about the field and the pathways they can take to achieve a career.

“This program is designed to be accessible, meet the needs of our participants, and offer valuable skills and knowledge needed to explore a job in agriculture,” the press release added.

The training will occur weekly, every Friday, from 8 a.m. to noon, at the CSU Western Campus. In total, the program will last over two months, starting on Aug 22 and ending on Nov 14. All sessions will take place on the CSU Western Campus, except for when we visit outside farms and ranches. Mileage will be reimbursed for those traveling from outside of Mesa County and for farm visits.

The deadline for registration is Aug 15.
