Today we're packing up and headed down to Charleston for our last summer wedding and my heart is joyfully expectant. Charleston is where I started my business, where my husband proposed, and where I always willingly escape to quiet my heart. It's the place that never disappoints and I always come back full.

I'm so grateful for a summer of brides that became dear friends as we have walked through such a challenging season together. The weddings have been so full of intention, enjoyment, and revelry; while I'm very sleepy, I'm so honored to see people gathering again. Here's my marker to remind myself and others that walking forward from COVID should look a whole lot like it does right now- full of appreciation for the people with whom we gather.

Just a friendly ‘thank you’ to our clients, vendors friends, and community here. When you support , you are supporting this crew right here. When you trust this team with your wedding, you become a part of our story just as we do yours. It’s been a rough year for businesses everywhere, and today I (Taylor) and just humbled and grateful for the work that we have. I’m thankful for the clients that have rolled with the funny appearances on zoom when little boys has snuck in to the office to say hello. I’m grateful for deeper friendships with vendors as we’ve walked through some really hard circumstances. Happy Tuesday from this mama and friend! 💕 💕

Recently, we celebrated with Patrick and Megan. My husband was in the wedding, my boys were in the wedding, and I was able to help them with coordination. Man, it felt good to work again. Every event thus far this year has postponed, and to say that I have missed this job would be an understatement.

Getting to create, serve, and celebrate our dearest friend was such a warm reminder of the gift of friendship and fellowship. Hug your people today, cheers

Taylor here- working long days and dreaming up fun designs for our clients. Can we be real for a minute on ?

Sometimes silence or pushing positivity all of the time can come across as having a lack of compassion for the suffering around you. I (Taylor) wouldn’t ever want to communicate that and can admit that this is an uncomfortable season for our us as well. If you’re new around here, yes, we love the fine art of hospitality, having a sazerac, dance parties, and loving our families fiercely.

But, today, we feel the weight of what’s going on in our industry. How do you remain steadfast when you see a $78 billion dollar industry, built by the blood sweat and tears of small businesses, come to a screeching halt?
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
As a planner, I feel responsible for counseling clients on the best way to navigate what to do during a global pandemic-that feels weighty. As a friend to my clients, I grieve with and for them the ways they’re being asked to let go, for the time being, the exciting expectations they once had for their wedding day.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Brides- please postpone your date and have that fun wedding. Don’t lose the joy and excitement of dreaming of your big day. It may be a different time of year, on a different day of the week, or with less people, but it’s still a day to celebrate your beautiful love story.
⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀⠀
Vendors- we need each other. If you’re struggling let’s be willing to put competition aside and figure out how to work together to weather this storm. We want to be here for you in whatever way we can be.

Mamas of the bride/groom- we hurt with you too. As a mother myself, I cannot imagine the disappointment you’re feeling about these postponements and the what if’s playing out in your mind. Please continue to reach out so that we may be a friend to talk these things through at this time

There’s something magical about those golden hour images in the fall that pair so nicely with warm floral tones and the faces of two people in love. High five to my industry friends, ✋🏼 we made it through October. We’ve wrapped up our weddings for the year and I can’t say thank you enough to the families that trusted us with some really big (and really fun!!) productions. As we enter into a season of gathering around the table with friends and family in the coming months, we encourage you to try to slow down and enjoy your people. Happy November!
