What started as an accidental side hustle for founder Christine in 2011 grew into one of the most recognized wedding planning and design companies in the Mid-Atlantic — serving couples across Richmond, Charlottesville, Washington DC and beyond with thoughtful planning, elevated design and deeply personal hospitality.
For 15 years, The Hive has planned, designed and executed celebrations ranging from intimate gatherings to multi-day luxury wedding weekends, earning national recognition, industry awards and features in some of the world’s most respected publications along the way.
But what matters most has always been the people.
The Hive was built on the belief that weddings should feel personal, intentional and welcoming — for every couple, every family and every love story. Our team has always reflected the diversity, creativity and heart of the couples we serve, and that will continue to be part of our legacy for years to come.
In January 2026, Christine officially passed the torch to Anne Michelle, who now leads The Hive into its next chapter while honoring the foundation, relationships and reputation built over the last decade and a half.
Fifteen years later, we’re still obsessed with beautiful details, seamless ex*****on, calm energy, incredible parties and creating celebrations that feel unmistakably like our clients.
