This sounds pretty obvious, right?
Sometimes we receive wedding day floor plans that have the DJ in a spot that doesn't contribute to the party atmosphere that most couples are looking for! Follow these 3 wedding day floorplan tips to get and keep the party going!
1. Don't put the DJ booth behind tables where guests will be seated. There is nothing worse than the DJ getting complaints that the music is too loud for the one table placed in front of his speakers, while those on the dancefloor request that he cranks the music up! Allow the dancefloor to serve as a buffer for sound throughout the party, and provide comfortability for every guest.
2. Put the DJ by the dance floor. This may sound obvious but many planners, venues, and couples, place the DJ away from the dance floor. The DJ's job is more than just playing music. Maintaining visibility of the event and being able to gauge the crowd is how your DJ will get your guests to the dance floor and make sure they stay there. Don't put the DJ in a corner, behind other decor, or in a separate, less visible space.
3. Create an atmosphere and flow by considering how your guests will move about your space. If you have other things for your guests to do (photo booth, an open bar, unique guestbook activities, midnight snack, etc.) be sure to consider how the DJ and dancefloor fit into the overall design of the space. You don't want guests to feel that they have to squeeze into certain areas or congregate in one space more than the other. Balance is key in making sure that there is that enjoyable party vibe in every corner of your reception!
