INCREDIBLE is the only way to describe these wedding festivities! At the stroke of six pm, the guests were met by the soulful tunes of bagpipers echoing across the grounds of Dover Hall, a 32,000 sq ft English Tudor manse nestled in Manakin Sabot, Virginia.
As guests stepped into the night air, a doorman assisted them by swinging open the giant 18th century Gothic Front Door into a total night of amazingness! The tunes from Lyrical Trio waffled through the air as they were offered a sparkling glass of champagne to wander through a 52 room estate home. All were in awe of the spectacular home, it's furnishings as well as the decor the evening.
As the clock struck seven, the guests were escorted to their seats down a beautiful staircase to the Ballroom which had been transformed for the Ceremony with a stunning custom runner from The Original Runner Company. The Massive Lion head Mantel, who's 1830 Scottish heritage demanded attention became the natural focal point for the ballroom from which the entire evening's festivities pivoted. After the Ceremony, the guests followed the bridal party to the Main Floor to enjoy cocktails, hors doeuvres by Champagne Taste Catering. The staff flew into action and removed half the chairs and added 2,900 total of tables, linens, crystal, china, silver, floral items to transform the 2,400 square ballroom into the Dining Room for the Four Course Wine Dinner which followed. The French Doors on the east side of the Ballroom were thrown open to reveal the second half of the dining room--in the courtyard under the stars (in a clear tent from Skyline Tent Company) It took your breath away, the glimmering tent, the beautiful cake by Graham Haddock as the centerpiece, the Baby Grand on the balcony in the theme colors of red, black and white.
Guests followed to their seats with the help of Ginny Rogan's beautiful Calligraphy. Flowers, everywhere you looked were created by James Boix of Buckingham Greenery. Four courses paired with complementary wine pairings were offed by Champagne Taste Catering as guests nibbled to the tunes of Jeff Decker of Sam Hill Entertainment and entertained by Master Magician John Smallie.
At the bewitching hour of 11 past 11 o'clock on this very special 11th day of 11/11, guests wandered to the front lawn to enjoy the spectacular fireworks display by Zambelli Fireworks. AGAIN!!, the staff flew into action....removing all 2900+ pieces from the Ballroom to transform it yet again!!...to a Dance Hall! Lighting from Blue Steel Lighting Design changed soft, warm tones to electric, time to energize and dance tones! Very mod, tall backed white sleek couches from Cort Event Furnishings rounded out and Bill Gilliam of Choice Entertainment began cranking up the tunesl!
Guests gathered quickly around the roaring fire and could feel the energy....the night had JUST begun!!
