Great reminders for your wedding day photos! ✨📸
One of the most common last-minute wedding day surprises is something nobody thinks about until they see the photos: tan lines and sun exposure issues!
Sunglasses tan lines can be surprisingly noticeable in portraits. If you've spent all summer outdoors with your favorite shades on, you might end up with lighter patches around your eyes that stand out in wedding photos.
A simple solution? Try spending some time outdoors without sunglasses during the week leading up to the wedding (while still being smart about sun exposure), or consider wearing a different style of sunglasses that creates a less obvious tan line.
Another big one, spray tans can be fantastic when done right, but timing is everything. A fresh spray tan applied a day or two before the wedding can sometimes appear overly dark or slightly orange, especially under certain lighting conditions. I always recommend scheduling your spray tan about 4–5 days before the wedding. This gives the color time to settle, soften, and look more natural by the big day.
My goal as your photographer is to help you look and feel your absolute best. A little planning ahead can make a huge difference, ensuring your photos capture you—not distracting tan lines or uneven color.
Bonus Tip: avoid getting sunburned in the days leading up to your wedding! Whether it's a beach day, a round of golf, a fishing trip, or just an afternoon by the pool, a painful red sunburn can quickly become an unexpected wedding-day accessory.
While photographers can work some magic during editing, severe sunburn, peeling skin, and bright red color are incredibly difficult—and sometimes impossible—to completely remove from every single image in a wedding gallery.
Do yourself a favor and wear sunscreen, seek shade when you can, and save the marathon sun sessions for the honeymoon
Trust me, your future self flipping through your wedding album will thank you!
