We are creating a fantastic family style seating arrangement with the help of NACE Richmond, VA Chapter (National Association of Catering Executives) members, Rent-E-Quip inc. An incredible meal has been curated by Chef Tyenella Hall using produce from both VSU and Browntown Farms!

The tour includes a stop at VSU College of Agriculture Experimental Farm and insight from Duron L Chavis, an urban agriculture advocate and community engagement coordinator at Lewis Ginter Botanical Garden and Therese Nelson, founder of Black Culinary History.

Saturday is the first official day of Fall. And although the weather hasn't quite pushed us to go grab a Pumpkin Spice "anything" just yet, we ARE excited about our plans to dine at Julep's New Southern Cuisine very soon.

Their new Fall menu has been released and includes sweet corn griddle cakes, smoked duck rillette, roasted acorn squash soup, pan roasted quail, and spiced peach beignets, to name a few.

We just may start with dessert first! Yum! Cheers to a great Fall Season!

This past weekend, I worked a an incredible wedding and as the bridal party was getting the bride ready for her grand entrance into the ballroom, I noticed a beautiful hair comb being placed in the brides’ hair. I had to smile but I quickly excused myself. My baby sister always picked out the most beautiful hair combs that she said she felt I needed on my wedding day to help tame my thick hair during dancing! ☺️☺️

Today marks a month since my baby sister has been gone, and even though I sometimes feel like I will have kissed a thousand frogs before I find my Prince, I’ve spent all day thinking of ways I’m going to honor her at my wedding.

Choosing your wedding day entertainment is very important. This person will act as the MC and can make or break your reception. Let’s not leave this memory making detail up to your best girlfriend or even a relative - just to give them something to do. When interviewing your musicians or the DJ, make sure they understand how a reception timeline flows. You may love the boy-band or hip, off the cuff, DJ from your favorite hangout spots from your good ole’ college days, but are they the reallllyyy the best choice when it comes to your wedding reception?
