I have been working some long hours these past few weddings. Thank GOODNESS I purposefully gave myself a break this weekend to recharge. My plan was to kick back, relax, and frankly, be a couch potato.
I had just finished talking to my husband about my plans for a lazy weekend when my momma in-law called to tell me that she has 2 tickets to Busch Gardens and wanted my husband and I to come along with her this weekend!
Now if you didn't know, I grew up going to Busch Gardens so when given the opportunity, I can't say no. So now we are spending my weekend off going to my childhood favorite amusement park with my in-laws and some of my best friends! 🥳🥳

A couple things about sparklers:
1) 20" sparklers are best.
2) If you can get guests to help each other light their sparklers, the lighting process goes by much faster.
3) You need to have a wide enough walkway for the couple and the guests.
4) For the couple, don't run! Take your time walking through.
5) Sparklers are dangerous in the hands of overly intoxicated guests.
6) Remember to bring a bucket for discarding the sparklers after they die out.

This is your sign to DONATE your floral arrangements after your wedding!

I offer this complimentary service to all of my clients and typically give the arrangements to local assisted living facilities - commonly Beth Sholom Assisted Living or Manorhouse Assisted Living. ❤️

What happens to them?
1) They get used in a motor skill activity by taking the arrangements apart and re-arranging them in small vases. They often get to keep the arrangement once they are done!
2) They are placed in common areas for guests to see, touch, smell, and even take back to their room.

How did I come up with this?
I used to work at Manorhouse Assisted Living and loved seeing my residents light up whenever their home was decorated. 💕

Happy Thursday!
I wanted to share some fun facts about me before my Final Walkthrough with one of my clients today!

- When I was in high school, I was a total nerd. I placed well in robotics competitions and and played the tuba in the marching band at .
- I went to college to be an electrical engineer and never could pass my final calculus class. *sigh*
- I love all kinds of music as long as it has a good beat. My favorite songs are the ones that pull at your heart strings.
- Coffee is my addiction. I have tried so many times to stop drinking it to no avail.

And finally
- I started planning weddings because I loved planning my own. Now I plan weddings because it's fun and it's helping me to reach my goal of being a mom once again through IVF treatment.

If you are coordinating your own wedding, this tip is for you!

Pre-ceremony can be the most stressful OR the most fun and carefree part of your day. To avoid feeling the stress, be sure that all of your pre-ceremony vendors have plenty of time to complete their tasks.

Photographers and videographers have a lot to capture in the morning - detail shots, getting ready, groom and groomsmen, bride and bridesmaids, first look, parents, flower girls, ring bearers, close family and much more. Giving them plenty of time to capture it all prevents them from feeling the rush. How do you know how much time they need? Simple, just ask!

Hair and makeup artists often begin the day, meaning that they have a huge impact on the timeline for the rest of the day. Please be sure to ask them how much time they will need to get everyone ready and then incorporate that time into photographer's/videographer's time.

Something I try to do at every wedding:

DANCE!

At some point during Coordination Phase - my third and final phase of wedding planning - over half of my clients say, "I better see you on the dance floor!" Now here's the problem: I do not like being the center of attention - especially on wedding days. And I am also NOT a good dancer.

That being said, I cannot bring myself to say "I'm sorry, no" when the ask is so simple and can make my clients smile.

So I came up with a solution.

I will dance... to a line dance... just once. This allows me to avoid looking like a crazy dancer, takes me away from being the center of attention, and means that I don't have to say "no" to my clients when they ask me to dance!

FLOWER PETAL TIP:

This one is pretty simple! For flower petals that are going to be used to decorate a reception table, the aisle, flower girl baskets, etc. remember to leave the flower petals somewhere cool - preferably inside or even in a refrigerator if able - until the last possible moment. Flower petals will wilt quickly so it is important to keep them as fresh as possible for as long as possible.

This tip also works for boutonnieres and corsages!

BIG ANNOUNCEMENT!!!

As you may be able to guess from the photos, I am officially moving!! 🥳👏

Short Moving Story:
My family and I purchased our first home in early May but allowed the previous owners to stay in the home for 60 days rent-free after closing to provide them with time to purchase a new home of their own, move out, and settle in to their new place. We heard from our wonderful realtors and on June 29th and began the process of moving in! Over the weekend, we got just about everything moved into the new home. This week we will be unpacking and officially settling in!

Some Q+A for my clients:
What does this mean for travel?
- There is no need to incorporate travel fees for anyone. I am actually only moving 20 minutes down the road so most of you have the same or similar travel times. :)

Will your response time be longer now?
- Every spare moment I have at the moment is going towards unpacking our new home and settling in. That being said, we should be in a much better position by this weekend. Thank you so much for your patience thus far.
