We had an eggcellent time today at Brookmeade Community during our S.A.S.S. Program! Staff showed off their colorful spirit dressed in tie-dye while everyone enjoyed a delicious choice of quiche or pancakes, topped off with festive Easter cupcakes for dessert.

The fun continued with a special surprise visit from the Easter Bunny, bringing smiles and laughter to all! We also took a moment to recognize Brian Zeidan for Long Term Care Administrators Week and Jaime Stickles for Human Resources Week—we truly appreciate all that you both do!

We wrapped up the day with a lively game of Bingo and some refreshing sherbet shakes. Another wonderful day full of joy, celebration, and community spirit at Brookmeade! Brookmeade Community

What a wonderful morning at The Pavilion at Brookmeade!

We were thrilled to welcome over 90 older adults for Pancakes in the Park with the Dutchess County Office for the Aging. Seniors of the community socialized over hot coffee and delicious pancakes, followed by an exciting game of Bingo!

Big thanks to the Medical Reserve Corps volunteers and Congressman Pat Ryan’s office for being part of today’s gathering—it truly felt like community in action.

We’re excited to help bring more of these meaningful senior events to Northern Dutchess, creating space for connection, joy, and support.

Yesterday, The Brookmeade Community joined LeadingAge New York with senators, assembly members, legislators and advocates at the New York State Capitol to address the nursing home and Medicaid funding crisis.

Kate Neils, a dedicated staff member and family member of a resident at The Meadows at Brookmeade, shared how quality nursing home care has been life-changing for her mother—and why funding must be protected.

With 70,000 nursing home beds at risk, we stand with LeadingAge NY in calling for:
✅ A 20% increase in Medicaid reimbursement rates
✅ Restoration of capital improvement funding
✅ A new acuity adjustment model to support quality care

Brookmeade Community was in Albany today alongside LeadingAge NY, advocating for nursing home residents and families!

Thank you to the legislators, assemblymembers, senators and supporters who joined us in calling for a that restores harmful cuts and invests in Medicaid rates that cover the cost of care. Medicaid funding must match the cost of care.

A heartfelt thank you to our own staff member and a dedicated family member who shared her mother’s story as a resident, highlighting the real impact and benefits of our skilled nursing facility.
