I loved learning from during this shoot and for the opportunity to assist her with weddings earlier this month. It felt like a great last hurrah of flowers for now. If you don’t follow my personal or author accounts, you probably missed my life announcement.
In just a week and a half, I am moving to Edinburgh, Scotland to attend graduate school and study creative writing. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿 I am looking forward to being back in Scotland where so much of my heart and inspiration has a home. That said, I will not be taking any floral clients for the next year. Thank you to all the floral friends and brides I’ve gotten to know and for the support for my flowers over the past 3 years. I’m going to miss it, but I know that this is the path for me. You might get some sneaky photos here from time to time of beautiful Scotland, but if you want to keep up with me, you can follow my personal .ann.kirk or my author accounts. 💕💐xo

NEW LOGO! With this upgrade in branding, I just wanted to share my no. 1 priority as a floral and event designer, and then a little about what my personal style/aesthetic is.
As a designer, my number one priority is you - my brides. That’s why no two weddings I create for look the same. Each one is customized to your style, colors, and preferences. You give me the inspiration and I create. I value your trust in my ability more than I can say. I stay educated so I can improve my skills and provide the product my brides ask for. With that said, l don’t believe in cookie cutter or following trends for the sake of trends. I hope you’ll work with me to customize something truly unique that is just yours - and not someone else’s pulled from Instagram or Pinterest.
I believe in the natural beauty of flowers. If I had to describe my preferred aesthetic as a designer, it would be organic, timeless, and whimsical. I love how flowers add just enough natural beauty to add some magic to just about anything! So let me create your fairy gardens, your soft and sophisticated bridal bouquets, and your overgrown wedding arches! .

When my cousin came to me with the vision for her wedding, the thing she wanted the most was lots of beautiful flowers. 🌿 This was my biggest project to date, and I’m grateful for the friends and family who helped me make it happen, from processing, arranging, and putting out centerpieces. And I’m grateful for a great wholesaler and a new air conditioned crawl space that came in clutch to keep these beautiful blooms fresh 💕 Congrats Mr & Mrs Benson, may you have many, many years of loving each other.

I’ve been thinking a lot in the last week about how in times of trouble, one of the things many people feel compelled to do is to start their lives with the person they love as soon as possible. It was the same in times of war as we have seen just in the past week. It’s interesting to me that when we fear, the answer is almost always love. Nothing can stop us from loving. So hold each other a little tighter and remember that it’s possible to face anything together.

One more today. When asked what sets me apart from other independent florists in my area, there’s a few things that come to mind, starting with my focus on taking clients on one-on-one and customizing every event I work on to the client’s need and aesthetic.
But what sets me even further apart is that Rexburg is my home. If you’ve spent any time at all in Rexburg, you know it’s a transient place. People are constantly coming to learn and grow and then move on to whatever is bigger and better for them. But I was born and raised here. For 25 years, this has been my community, my people, my home. I know what it’s like to be a local and a student. But when other people come and go, this is where my roots are planted. My maternal family have been locals for generations, they rebuilt their homes after the Teton Dam Flood. We have hosted dancers for the International Folk Dance and Music Festival. My parents were pillars of education in Madison School District for a combined 47 years. In this transient town full of talented people you could choose to work with, I am dedicated to serving my community. I understand how the industry in our area works and I know what it’s like to be local family and I relate to our student population. I promise to point you in the right direction for not only your floral needs, but any recommendations I can make to support this creative community.
