Most often that’s when a new little life comes into your family. This little guy is so precious and loved. From mom… to dad… to sisters… to his doggy.

I know. It’s hard for me as well.

My job is to make you feel comfortable. Majority of the time that means we get silly for a bit.

There are always just a few pictures that I believe translate better in black and white.

The moments where the emotion becomes overshadowed by the color.

The images that I imagine you returning to in YEARS with a little twinkle in your eye, because you remember. You remember the goofy personality of your girls. You remember the way they make you light up with they embrace you. You remember how silly it was to try not to look in the same place during your Photoshoot.

They just need to be saved in a special sort of way. Black and white.

Most of my life I’ve felt drawn to a career that feels BIG. When I landed on photography, part of me felt like I was letting down my potential.

I’ve come to understand it’s the very opposite though. Along with you, we’re creating a legacy. These images I take of you are something future generations will look back on to learn about you and where they came from.

They feel very “in the moment” but just think about your grandkids and their kids looking back on these one day and realizing how cool it is that they came from this.

Makes my heart race just thinking about it.

I can’t believe senior season is over for now. I had such a fabulous time capturing this girlie.

Senior sessions have a special place in my heart. There just aren’t many opportunities to have a full session completely devoted to you!! And what a great time it is during this transition period.

Summer romance in the mountains plays just like a fairytale. These two get married in less than a month!! Capturing them for a second time in the mountains reminded me of something. When you book a photographer for your wedding, do me a favor. At least do ONE photoshoot with them before the big day. Engagements. Bridals. A mini session. Something where you can get used to each other and the way you mesh. It’s like trying on a husband. You don’t do it overnight. It takes time and experience together. Please and thank you! Gosh, I’ve been loving all the indoor shoots I’ve had on my schedule lately!

I used to cringe at the thought of dealing with indoor lighting. It’s a whole different ball game. However, I’ve worked hard to understand it and photograph it. Now, I love it!!

It’s just such an intimate look into your real life. It’s the best!
