I contacted Rich to cater the Baby Shower Brunch I held on October 2nd. What a fantastic experience. We spoke at length about what I was hoping for and Rich provided me with a very detailed plan to include a server. The menu was a great mix of breakfast and lunch fare and my guests raved about the food. Maria was there to set up and help guests as they went around the brunch table. Simply Elegant provided more than enough food for my event and at the conclusion it was package for use later. I didn't need to provide a thing and for the first time thoroughly enjoyed an event in my home. I highly recommend Simply Elegant, you will not be disappointed.

Congratulations to the Washington Football Team for making the NFL Playoffs.

The WFT kicks off their game against Tampa Bay on Saturday evening at 8:15pm.

We are offering Individual Charcuterie Boxes for fans to snack on during the game.

They are priced at $10.00 per box and will be available for pick up at the Café, on Saturday afternoon.

Happy New Year to everyone!!

As everyone knows 2020 was challenging year for all of us.

Simply Elegant has been able to maintain our business, on a modified level with the help of our amazing kitchen crew - Delmis,
Marlin and Marazita.

Last week we partnered with Blue Cross/Blue Shield Care First to provide 400 Boxed Lunches for Inova Fair Oaks and Inova Reston Hospitals.


We also catered a small New Year's Eve Dinner Party and small dinner for one of our corporate clients. (All Covid Safety Guidelines mandated by the CDC, were followed.)

We just want to let everyone know and that we are available for any catering needs - breakfast, lunch and/or dinner.

All meals can be prepared and served in individual containers.

Hello Everyone -
This past Tuesday was the Chinese Lunar New Year.

One of our clients decided to celebrate this event tonight and asked Simply Elegant to cater the reception.

Since it is the Year of the Boar - we knew we had to offer a Suckling Pig - Chef Paul did an amazing job with a "low and slow" roast. The meat is tender - the skin is crispy.

This event will not be Boaring at all.

Happy Fourth of July !!!

To help keep cool this Fourth, here is a refreshing recipe for
Mango Strawberry Lemonade:

1 cup Fresh Lemon Juice
1 cup Water
1 cup Sugar
½ cups Mango Puree
1 pint Strawberries
2 cups Club Soda

In a blender, blend lemon juice, water, sugar, and mango puree, until blended well and sugar dissolves.

Once blended, add in strawberries. Pulse until strawberries are cut down a bit but still remain chunky .

Pour into pitcher or glasses. Add club soda and ice. Stir.

Serve with a garnish of mint, strawberries, lemon or have it plain.

Good morning Everyone -

Happy First Day of Spring!!

In Preparation of the Upcoming Snow Storm - Here is a Wonderful Recipe for Delicious Hot Chocolate.

INGREDIENTS

3 tablespoons cocoa powder, plus more for serving
3 cups whole milk
6 ounces semisweet chocolate, finely chopped
3 tablespoons granulated sugar
Lightly sweetened whipped cream (for serving)

RECIPE PREPARATION

Bring ¾ cup water to a simmer in a medium saucepan over medium-high heat. Whisk in 3 Tbsp. cocoa powder until no lumps remain, then add milk and return to a simmer. Whisk in chocolate and sugar and cook, whisking frequently, until mixture is smooth and creamy and chocolate is melted, about 5 minutes.

Divide hot chocolate among mugs. Top with whipped cream and dust with cocoa powder.

HELLO EVERYONE - BIG NEWS FROM THE FAIRFAX COUNTY BOARD OF HEALTH WEBSITE

The Fairfax County Health Department has announced the winners of its 14 Carrot Gold Food Safety Excellence Award for 2017.

Ten local food service operations, including two catering companies, two fast-casual Mexican restaurants, a local high school, a Fortune 500 company café, a grocery store, and a group home for girls, are being recognized for maintaining outstanding food safety practices and employee education.

This year’s winners were selected from the more than 3,400 permitted establishments inspected each year by environmental health specialists with the Health Department.

The 2017 recipients of the Fairfax County Health Department’s 14 Carrot Gold Food Safety Excellence Award are:

HAPPY HOLIDAYS !!

Here at Simply Elegant we just finished our first week of Christmas events.

The entire staff did an amazing job - Chef Drew, Delmis, Dina, Maritza, Mama Dina, Alma, Jay, Andrea and our "two night time" Marias.

Our annual Christmas staffer, John is back in Idaho with his new wife, expecting the arrival of their baby.

We miss him very much, but wish him and Heather all the best and a Merry Christmas.

I am sure Santa is proud of his elves, but our elves are absolutely amazing and truly appreciate everything they create.
