I couldn’t agree more. It’s changed me, defined me, taught me, humbled me, overjoyed me, and it continues to evolve me.

My kiddos are big kiddos now, starting their big lives and I still don’t know where the time went.

I look back at all the photos. And, there so very few with me in them. Mostly, they were my job as photojournalist at home. And, that work holds the most value today.

This is your reminder, get the photos. Seize the moments, and celebrate your presence as their mother in the moments.

In between moments of a family session.

Details like hands, feet, hugs, and even a little apprehension are part of the story.

In High School I was introduced to Dorothea Lange and was taken by her ability to focus on a subject’s hands. They hold so many things. And with our little the reach out for safety, love, or just connection.

You’ll see a lot of that in my work. And I’m happy about it.

Reasons for a Sunrise Session:

1. Soft, magical, lighting.
2. It’s early and allows you to be more present.
3. It’s quiet and sometimes empty.
4. I mean, it’s the sunrise.

It’s a perfect time for sunrise shoots. The time is t too early and the crowds haven’t arrived. Not to mention, it’s always memorable and full of magic.
