My dear and faithful Club Fox Blues patrons,
After more than 20 years of Wednesday Night Blues at Club Fox, the time has come for a change in how blues is presented at the club.
There is, of course, some sadness in that news. Our Wednesday nights have been far more than just a weekly show. They have been a gathering place for musicians, blues fans, friends, and a community that has grown around this music for more than two decades. I know I will miss those Wednesday nights, and I’m sure many of you will as well.
Unfortunately, inconsistent attendance made it increasingly difficult to continue the series in its weekly format.
The good news is that Club Fox remains strongly committed to blues music and to the community we have built together. Beginning in August, we will launch the new First Thursday Blues series, featuring one special show on the first Thursday of each month.
And we intend to make these nights something special.
Club Fox has committed to significantly increasing the budget for artists, giving me the opportunity to bring in some of the very best local, regional, and touring blues acts available. Our goal is to make each First Thursday a true event—and to present shows that are every bit as memorable as the great nights we’ve shared over the years.
As part of this change, we will no longer have individual sponsors for each show. Instead, Club Fox will offer reserved seating at the five front tables via Eventbrite.

Thursday August 6 - The Blues Project
The Blues Project's 2026 tour continues........on the cutting edge of improvisational, classical, blues, and jazz.
Roy Blumenfeld merges together his long-time East and West Coast compatriots to carry forward The Blues Project's merging of genres, which has captured the group’s "signature boundary pushing sound while introducing new musical flavors, including New Orleans funk, zydeco, and R&B influences.."
Their recent "Live 2025" album is on the Roots Rock album chart for 2025 and 2026, peaking at #2 with Motorfy and Wake Me Shake me, on the weekly Top 50 Roots Rock Song Chart.
Thursday September 3 - Chris Cain
According to Kid Andersen, there's no better blues player working today. "Chris Cain is the rarity whose blues prowess is so undeniable that he has gained everyone's approval. Ask any of your favorite guitar players who they think are the greatest living masters of the instrument, chances are they will all have Chris Cain at the very top of their list."
Thursday October 1 - Dennis Jones
Dennis Jones is a powerhouse blues-rock guitarist, vocalist, and songwriter known for his fiery solos, gritty grooves, and commanding stage presence. Based in Los Angeles, Jones has built a career on blending traditional blues roots with the intensity of rock and the soul of R&B. His sound is inspired by legends like Jimi Hendrix, Buddy Guy and Stevie Ray Vaughan, but his music carries a modern edge that keeps audiences on their feet.
His most recent release “About Time” showcases his sharp songwriting and guitar mastery, earning a nomination for Best Blues Rock Album at the 2025 Blues Music Awards.
In 2023 Dennis won the Bobby Rush Blues Entertainer Award at the Jus' Blues Music Awards in Tunica, Mississippi
Wednesday October 28 - The Annual Halloween Bash with Lara Price
Yeah its not a first Thursday but we can’t ignore our traditional Halloween Party, can we?
Thursday November 5 - Daniel Castro
It wouldn’t be blues at the Club Fox without Daniel
Describing Daniel Castro as a blues artist doesn’t begin to tell the whole story. A highly accomplished guitarist and singer/songwriter with a strong musical point of view grounded in the very best blues traditions is more like it. Combine those talents with original blues-based material and you begin to understand Daniel’s strengths as an artist. “He’s got that real deal feel. I also want to take this opportunity to thank each and every one of you.
Your support over the years helped make Wednesday Night Blues possible. You supported the musicians, the club, and a blues community that became something truly special. I am deeply grateful for the friendships, loyalty, and generosity you have shown throughout the years.
While one chapter is coming to an end, I believe we have an opportunity to begin an exciting new one.
I hope you’ll join us on the First Thursday of each month as we continue bringing great blues music to the Club Fox stage.
