Swap Success!
Thank you to all who participated in our recent Spring Swap Take 2 at Play Hive! Play Hive proved to be an amazing and wonderful venue for all, and it seemed to me that everyone was able to find some great "new to you" stuff.
Special thanks to Shruthi and Play Hive for generously opening their doors to us, it was so great to be able to show all the swappers what a wonderful location that they have, and as well to meet some moms who had never heard of pls before. If you weren't able to make it or didn't bring your kids, please go check out Play Hive, they have so many great things going on for the little ones like art, music and special events plus it is a really great location for playgroups & field trips. Make sure to like them on Facebook to stay aware of all they have going on.

I want to thank all my amazing volunteers who, as always went above and beyond to make the swap great for everyone and have us on time all day! thank you Gina, Denna, Brian & Sheeja.

Thanks to our vendors Michelle of Happy Family, Julie From Simply Fun, Tara of Usborne Books & Cecily from DoTerra for coming out and supporting the swap, I saw a lot of interest from our swappers and hope you all had a great time.

Everything left over after the swap was donated to The Promises Foundation Miriam's House and they are, as always, very grateful.

One more from 1/23. This isn't even half of the great stuff our swappers brought.

Hey Swappers! I really need your help! I really want to get our first ever Womens swap planned for June but I want to make sure that you can all attend. As many of you know I have a bunch of kids and know first hand what it's like to try to sneak away, So...
For a Moms/Ladies Night Out Womens Swap would it be easier for you to do a weeknight or Weekend Night?
Please comment your answer

TIA for taking the time,
Jenn

Hello everyone! I am so excited about being the new swap organizer I want see what you all think about an idea I had... In the spirit of Mother's Day, and because it has been brought up time and time again, I am trying to plan a moms/ladies night out swap. It would be in the evening so we could get our littles to bed, and we would be swapping WOMENS clothes, shoes, bags, jewelry etc. I know I have several bags of great stuff that no longer fits. What about you?
I think it would be a great community building event for us, we could even have a glass of wine 😱 (if you're into that).
Please comment your ideas and input- venue? Day/Time preference? Anything!

05/05/2015

Hi Everyone! I just wanted to introduce myself. I am officially the new Swap Organizer. If you have been to a swap in the past couple of years we have probably met, and you may even have been to my house- lol! I am super passionate about what we do and am excited to be organizing this fun and helpful community program.
As you know, all of YOU are what make the swaps great! One of my goals as the new organizer is to grow the swap, which is only attainable with your help! Invite friends to like this page and tell others about what we do here.
I desperately need your feedback- I'm sure you all have tons of great ideas, for venues, vendors etc. and maybe even complaints too! I honestly want to hear it all! feel free to private message me if you aren't comfortable in a public forum.
Stay tuned- I am working on some great events, venues, vendors and swag for us in the future, and have some fun stuff in mind especially for us moms! (we are due, don't ya think?!?) I truly look forward to hearing from each and every one of you and seeing you ALL at our next swap,
Jenn

Thank You and Farewell!

First off, I want to thank everyone who came out to swap at the South Bay Family Tree Preschool Anniversary Event last Saturday - especially our loyal volunteers, Gina and Sheeja.

It was especially fun to be a part of the preschool's anniversary party, and many people there who had never even heard of a swap before told me what a cool thing it is. I couldn't agree with them more!

At least 25 families participated, and afterward, lots of great stuff was donated to The Promises Foundation Miriam's House and the LA County Toy Loan program.

I’m glad it was such a great swap, because now, after 2½ years organizing swaps for peace. love. swap. South Bay Cities, it’s time for me to move on. But fear not, for I will be replaced by long-time swapper Jenn Gallion, who will be taking over immediately, and plans to organize her first swap within the next few months. Keep checking back here for updates from her.

I have thoroughly enjoyed being a part of the South Bay swapping community…it’s been great getting to know many of you and seeing all that stuff change hands. With my one and only daughter going on six, you probably won’t see me at a children’s swap, but if Jenn ever decides to organize a women’s swap, I’ll be all over that.

Take care and swap on!
Kathleen

Join us on April 18 for a FREE Swap!

I know I said that the January swap would be my last one, but I've decided to organize one last swap - as a favor to a friend at the South Bay Family Tree Preschool. Because this swap will be a part of a larger event - an anniversary party for the preschool - it will be a bit different. There will be no vendors, and, most importantly for you, it will be free!

Pacific Elementary School, 1600 Pacific Ave, Manhattan Beach, CA 90266

Here's how it will work:

• Drop-off will start at 10:00am and end at 11:30. There will be no graduated entrance this time, so it doesn't matter what time you drop off, as long as you arrive by 11:30. Doors will shut after 11:30 for last-minute preparations.

• The swap will start at 12:00 sharp. Volunteers will be allowed to go in first, followed shortly thereafter by everyone else.

• We could still use a few more volunteers, so please let me know if you can help out. Shifts are from 10:00am – noon, and noon - 1:30pm.

For details about what to bring, what to fold and what to put on hangers, and exactly how the swap will run, please read our Guidelines for a Successful Baby/Kid/Maternity Swap at the link at the bottom of this post before attending the swap.

Google Drive is a free way to keep your files backed up and easy to reach from any phone, tablet, or computer. Start with 15GB of Google storage – free.
